California Family Destination Guide

Underwood Family Farms have about forty acres of land in Moorpark.  Along with a produce stand the farm offers U-Pick seasonal fruits and vegetables all year long.  For a small charge you can take the kids out on the farm and pick Strawberries, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes or pumpkins (depending on what the season is). Weekend admission includes a tractor-drawn wagon ride to the fields. Several very popular events are held at the farm each year including Easter on the farm, Wild West Weekend , Tractor Weekend and the fabulous Fall Harvest Festival. Tanaka Farm is a great place to take the kids. Located in Irvine California, Tanaka is one of the few remaining farms left in Orange County. Depending on the season they will have organic strawberries, tomatoes, watermelon or pumpkins. The main attractions for kids are the tractor pulled farm tours. The tour takes you out into the fields where your guide explains all about the farm and how the different vegetables are grown. Kids really enjoy the ride and it is also a great learning experience for them.
