Old Faithful Geyser Calistoga

California has it’s own version of Old Faithful in the Northern California town of Calistoga. Every 30 minutes or so the geyser shoots a stream of 350-degree Fahrenheit water 60 feet into the air. The Calistoga geyser is only one of three “old faithful’s” in the world.  The grounds around the geyser feature a large picnic area where familys can  bring their own  picnic lunches. There is also a snack bar and and gift shop. You can  see the famous Tennessee Fainting Goats, Jacob’s Four-Horn Sheep, and Guard Llamas at the petting zoo area. The goats no longer faint, with so many visitors the goats have become used to noise and are not easily scared. Still this is a fun place to visit and the kids will really enjoy old faithful. Calistoga is 75 miles north of San Francisco Take U. S. Highway 101 north across the Golden Gate Bridge and exit at CA 37 East (exit 460A). Go north on CA 29. 1299 Tubbs Lane, Calistoga, CA 94515
