Located in Palm Desert the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is a wonderful place to take your family for the day. With 1,200 acres of desert to explore, the Living Desert has something interesting for every member of the family. Kids will be amazed at the huge train display with bridges and tunnels going in every direction. The zoo has 450 plus animals featuring just about every desert critter that you can think off. Wear comfortable shoes and protect your self form the sun with a hat and sunscreen.
There is a tram service which only cost $5.00 for the entire day and drops visitors off at all the major attractions at the zoo. Directions: From Interstate 10 take the Monterey exit and turn south.
