Effie Yeaw Nature Center

The Effie Yeaw Nature Center is located inside Ancil Hoffman County Park, 2850 San Lorenzo Way, off Tarshes Drive in Carmichael, California in the Sacramento area. Outside the Center is a Maidu Indian summer village replica. The adjacent 77-acre nature preserve has self-guiding interpretive trails through the riparian woodland and along the American River. Watchable wildlife, including deer, coyotes, migratory songbirds and wild turkeys can be seen when exploring the riverbank trails through the preserves lush oak woodlands.

Inside in the discovery room there are  ever-changing, interactive exhibits related to the natural and cultural history of the Sacramento region. You and your family can have a fun day of hiking and even get a chance to spot some of the wild animals that live in the area.
